July - September
Communications activities:

 None.

Unusual Events at the TEAM Site:

None.

New Species:

 None yet formerly described.

Protocol Activities:

Camera trap data (two arrays of 30 cameras each) successfully saved to TEAM database.

Climate data successfully saved to TEAM database, but with data gaps caused by power problems. This is because the station presently does not run with solar panels, but obtains its energy from the 24-hour electricity service of Yasuni Research Station (YRS). However, now and then (once every 6 months or so), the almost permanent energy source from YRS is lost for a few hours and thus the climate station turns off and does not restart automatically when the energy returns. This problem can be solved by connecting a UPS to the station, but this has not been possible to buy because our university (PUCE) has the policy of not buying any equipment during the last 6 months of every calendar year. Therefore, the UPS will be bought in January 2013.

Vegetation data successfully saved to TEAM database (but see section on "Protocol Problems").

Protocol Problems:

There were some protocol-related issues with the vegetation data. These were solved with the aid of Dr. Patrick Jansen, STRI´s TEAM coordinator, and Dr. Jorge Ahumada, TEAM Technical Director, so that the vegetation data of the first census could be succesfully saved to the TEAM database.

Schedule Problems:

 None.

Logistical Problems:

The location of the climate station needs adjustment. We are considering to relocate it next year to the top of a 30-m canopy tower in the middle of the forest, in close colaboration with the TEAM technical director.
