Unusual Events at the TEAM Site:

The masting season continues in Pasoh - trees progressed from the flowering to the fruiting phase. Forest floor is carpeted with fallen fruits - some even germinated within a couple of days.

New Species:

 None

Protocol Activities:

Vertebrate:

30 camera points in Array 3 were deployed for 60 days (23 July - 23 September 2014). The extended 30 days was to record any unusual fauna activity during the masting phenomenon in Pasoh. More than 83,000 images were collected from Array 3. All of which has been annotated and saved as tpk files. One camera was stolen.

Vegetation:

All leaf samples from the 3 newly established plots (plot 7-9) were identified in August 2014.

Climate:

New Rh/T sensors were replaced on 6 September 2014

Protocol Problems:

Vertebrate:

Part of the reserve was awarded by the state forestry department to the local community for land conversion (plantation) by order of the state Sultan. This affected 2 camera locations which now located in the cleared forest and soon-to-be plantation. TEAM Technical Director was informed of the unexpected changes. The decision was to maintain the camera location to capture changes in fauna activity due to land-use change.
