The Pasoh Research Station, host to the Pasoh TEAM site held its annual Open Day over a weekend. Themed "Education in Forest Ecology" was held to encourage children and youths in science, ecology and to consider scientific research, particularly fores ecology, as a career. Pasoh TEAM team members as well as three volunteers to the TEAM project were involved as resource persons during this event. They shared their experiences and knowledge to inspire budding researchers.

Needless to say the event was successfully participated by 60 children and 20 youths from local schools and universities. It is hoped that such events in future may be supported by TEAM part of its outreach and educational program.

Protocol Activities:

30 camera traps were deployed and retrieved in Array 1 in July-August and deployed at Array 2 in September.

Protocol Problems:

Problems to upload tpk files of the camera trap pictures fom 2011 census and the recent first half of 2012 census is still unresolved. However, the TEAM technical team are working closely to resolve this. Part of the problem i.e. laptop memory and internet speed has already been overcome.

The long-standing problem with the climate station battery power has finally been resolved with assisstance from the TEAM technical team.

Suggestions:

Hands-on technical assisstance should a problem persist over a long period to avoid missing data reported for sites
