Year:
2012
Quarter:
April - June
Communications activities:

Wilson Spironello attended to the VI Brazilian Congress of Mastozoology, during 25th to 29th June 2012, in Corumbá, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.

Protocol Activities:

Management:
We worked in the new convenium between INPA and CI, and the negotiation of the agreement for the next fiscal year. We sent a team of technicians to the field to clear the tracks of Km 14 (ZF2) which were almost invisible.

Vegetation:
Organization of the botanical collections in the cabinets of the INPA’s Herbarium II. The researchers of this protocol cooperated with other researchers for the preparation of two manuscripts using data from TEAM, both still under review.

Climate:
Collection of climatic variables (precipitation, air temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, diffuse radiation, photosynthetic active radiation - PAR and soil moisture), maintenance of sensors, data tabulation, sending data to the TEAM database; data analysis, development of monthly and annual climatologic bulletins with our results.

Terrestrial Vertebrates:
Carlos Eduardo Faresin e Silva left the project. A new person has been selected to the protocol of Terrestrial Vertebrate, Clarissa Pimenta, and began her training in the protocol.

Schedule Problems:

In this period we should have started purchasing the field materials, cleaning trails and camps and hire temporary technicians for the 2012 census. However, we face several problems for signing a new agreement between INPA and CI, so we did not have funds to perform these activities. Our calendar of field activities will be changed. During this period we only work to enter into this agreement.
