Year:
2014
Quarter:
October - December
Communications activities:

During this period one student was trained in terrestrial vertebrates data collection, GPS use, habitat description and general field techniques at the CSNR field station.

Unusual Events at the TEAM Site:

During this period the water level in the Coppename  river was very low, which made accessing the camera trap points  a time consuming activity. The boat had to be dragged at many places in the river. End of December the water level went up a little bit, but overall this period was drier than normal.

New Species:

No new species were found.

Protocol Activities:

Terrestrial vertebrates: 30 camera traps from array 1 were picked up and two camera traps did not work. From 28 camera trap points 17775 pictures were collected. In array 2 only 28 camera traps were set up and 9063 camera trap pictures were collected. Two of the camera traps did not work anymore and will have to be replaced.

Vegetation protocol: this year there were no vegetation protocol activities, because of limited funds.

Climate protocol: Climate data for the period September-November was collected and uploaded to the TEAM website.

Protocol Problems:

For the terrestrial vertebrates protocol there was a problem with camera traps not working. Because of this only 28 camera trap points were sampled in array 2 instead of the required 30. Two new camera traps will be bought .

Schedule Problems:

For this period there was no significant deviation from the proposed sampling schedule.

Logistical Problems:

There were no logistical problems
